Antelope Valley, CA (ContentDesk) November 25, 2005 - There's a proverb from the Bible that says, “There is nothing new under the sun.” Well in the world of guitar instruction that doesn't mean much because there's always someone who's touting a new method. Then there's (California) Bob Dietz who has just released the definitive book, “The BEAD Method of Fretboard Mastery.” For thirty years he labored to unlock the layout of the guitar fretboard. On a piano the notes are easy to see because they are consecutive and repeat themselves every eight notes. “Not so with the guitar,” says Bob Dietz,” on the guitar the notes form a complex web of scales. Each pattern changes with the respective key.” All guitarists learn the fretboard by rote.

You can work countless hours learning to read sheet music and still feel you haven't mastered the fretboard. Many dream of being virtuosos but few will ever attain this status. The odds have just tilted in their favor. Many books teach patterns of the guitar but none adequately relate the elements of notes, scales, chords and modes into easy to visualize system. One day it occurred to Bob that the guitar is tuned in fourths and if you go counter-clockwise on the Circle of Fifths you will find the fourth of each note. Bob's finding resulted in a unifying theory of guitar that ties all the elements of the fretboard together. With Bob's new book, “The BEAD Method of Fretboard Mastery,” you will learn to use the Circle of Fifths as a tool for learning the location of all the notes on the fretboard.

Once you have this information in mind you can use it quickly find any note, chord, scale or mode on the guitar. This book leaves no stone unturned in explaining these very aspects. “The BEAD Method of Fretboard Mastery” is fully illustrated and annotated making this a great addition to any guitarist's library. “The BEAD Method of Fretboard Mastery” is coming soon to online retailers and local bookstores. You can see a preview of the book at the author's official website, “www.beadguitar.com..
