Baltimore, MD (ContentDesk) June 21, 2006 — Cari Gelber, 26 year-old author of recently released teen fiction novel, Rising Star (www.risingstarthebook.com), and music industry entrepreneur today announced a partnership with Daisy Rock Guitars and Clear Channel’s Online Music & Radio division to promote the release of her debut narrative. The partnership will take the form of an online promotion that will launch on June 19, 2006 and appear on the websites of pop, rock, and teen-orientated radio stations in the Clear Channel network, including NYC's Z100 (www.z100.com/cc-common/globalcontestfinder.html?contest=17028). Daisy Rock Guitars, (www.daisyrock.com/) the California-based girl-guitar company known for their pro-quality guitars for females, supplied prizing including the newest addition to their guitar fleet, the Star Artist guitar. Other prizes include guitar straps, picks, and Girls Guitar Method books.

Gelber supplied autographed copies of Rising Star. “I am excited to have Daisy Rock and Clear Channel on board for this promotion because of the level of exposure it will bring to the book and I want to continue to spread the word through unique promotions such as this. Between Daisy Rock’s connection to the young, female, musician market and Clear Channel’s ability access teens across the country, it really legitimizes the whole project for me.” said Gelber. Gelber’s novel Rising Star is based loosely on her own experiences as a rock band manager and promoter, and geared toward the teen market. Being a young woman in a male-dominated industry, Gelber felt she had a story to tell about the scenarios she has encountered.

Rising Star is a brisk, entertaining and informative book that Gelber hopes will inspire other young women. The book is available at Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com, and more information can be found at the Rising Star webpage or MySpace page.About the BookMost teens love music and celebrities, but seventeen year-old New Yorker Nikki Bellinger is not satisfied with just dreaming about them. She wants more than just her humdrum high school classes and modest school newspaper column, and she wants it now. With determination, cleverness, and a bit of luck, Nikki evolves from a typical student into a serious entrepreneur and music business industry phenomenon as she represents the pop rock band Long Story Short from its anonymous days to its stardom. But, Nikki has some choices to make. Will she put a personal relationship with a sexy band member ahead of her professional dreams? Should high school class work take second priority to her career goals? Will she let some of the recording industries’ top moguls take advantage of her youth, inexperience, and femaleness? From Long Story Short’s escapades on the road to Nikki’s struggle being a young female in the music business, “Rising Star” takes a realistic look at almost every teenager’s fantasy of touring with a rock band.About the AuthorCari Gelber has worked behind the scenes in the music industry for over a decade — promoting, booking, and managing bands in New York City.
